Karol G is breaking one record after another with her worldwide “Viajando Por El Mundo” tour – and she hasn’t even taken the stage yet. It sold a whopping two million tickets in the first four days after it went on sale, and shortly afterwards additional dates were added around the world. This makes her the first Latina to headline a stadium tour worldwide. But amid all the excitement, the Colombian superstar singer seems to still have a few tricks up her sleeve – and could even herald a whole new era in their tour promotion.

Karol got things started when she officially announced her tour last month – after previously teasing it at her historic Coachella headlining performance. The announcement trailer is set to her “Tropicoqueta” hit “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” and shows the singer loading props and tropical-sparkling outfits into a moving van. In one scene she opens a suitcase from which sequins spill out. “Not this one yet,” she says in Spanish with a smile, “but I’ll pack it.”

Since that mysterious moment, fans have been watching Karol’s tour promo like a hawk. What is initially noticeable is that the singer consistently uses the light blue heart emoji in her social media posts. This might seem banal – if it weren’t for the fact that it exactly matches the blue aesthetic of the promotional photos and videos. Karol wears sparkling blue nail polish and blue eyeshadow as well as a white tank top with a glittery blue star in the middle.

Blue aesthetic as a hint

Last week, Karol celebrated the overwhelming demand for her global Tropitour with an emotional Instagram post. “It’s incredible to see how much the family has grown,” she wrote in Spanish in the caption – meaning her fans. “I am beyond grateful from the bottom of my heart for the endless love you always give me and I don’t take anything for granted, so GET READY,” she added. “Because when you think you’ve seen it all, remember: La Bichota always surprises you.”

The carousel post deliberately highlighted Karol’s sparkly blue outfit and even included a new photo of the singer wearing a sparkly blue luchador mask. In Coachella rehearsal photos, Karol and rising Colombian singer Daiky Gamboa were seen in matching graphic T-shirts that read “Stay Focused and Extra Sparkly” over a picture of them performing.

So what’s behind it? Some fans are convinced that it is the deluxe version of “Tropicoqueta”. Her fourth studio album was only released last June – but it wouldn’t be the first time that she turned a deluxe project into her own era.

The model: “Bichota Season”

In 2023, a month before the start of her record-breaking “Mañana Será Bonito” tour, Karol announced “Bichota Season” – a ten-track counterpart to the sunny album “Mañana Será Bonito”. The record became a central part of her live show and helped the superstar singer embody her new, confident self. “It’s about a woman who’s proud of where she’s at, of everything she’s had to go through. Of never giving up on herself, of always having an inner voice telling her, ‘Go, you can do this,'” she told ROLLING STONE in her 2023 cover interview.

Even if nothing is confirmed: the widespread theory that a deluxe version of “Tropicoqueta” is in the starting blocks sounds quite plausible. Finally, Karol has just released a new song – the heartbreaking ballad “Después de Ti” with Cigarettes After Sex’s Greg Gonzalez. This could simply be a standalone single celebrating her Coachella appearance. But as La Bichota wants it: The visualizer video for the song shows a motif of shining stars in front of – you guessed it – a glittering blue background.
