Karlsruhe is defeated by Klopp when the stadium opens

Defeat in stoppage time: Karlsruher SC was not rewarded for a brave friendly performance against Liverpool. The second division lost to team manager Jürgen Klopp’s team on Wednesday 2: 4 (1: 1) at its premiere in the newly built stadium in the Wildpark.

The hosts’ first goal in their new homeland was scored by returnee Lars Stindl (39′). Borussia Mönchengladbach’s arrival made up for the early deficit with a goal from Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez (3rd).

Sebastian Jung then scored the lead for KSC at the beginning of the second half (50′). The guests increased the intensity, equalized through Cody Gakpo (69th), before Diogo Jota scored twice in added time (90th + 2, 90th + 4).

The Reds included new signing Dominik Szoboszlai in the starting XI, who recently switched from RB Leipzig to Liverpool for 70 million euros. Klopp made a complete change at half-time.
