Kanye West’s daughter North West makes her rap debut on VULTURES

“It’s your bestie, Miss, Miss Westie,” begins the ten-year-old’s rap part.

West’s daughter North West also made an appearance at the listening event for VULTURES, the new album by Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign. She performed her part live alongside her father for the first time. The event took place on December 11th in Miami.

Dressed entirely in black and with an oversized leather jacket, the ten-year-old stood on stage in the Florida city. She danced, jumped and moved her lips to the lines she rapped for VULTURES. The lip sync version read: “It’s your bestie, Miss, Miss Westie / Don’t try to test me / It’s gonna get messy / It’s gonna get messy / Just, just bless me”.

The Miami moment wasn’t North West’s first rap performance on a stage. In 2020, she appeared during a Yeezy fashion show – her father’s brand. However, her lines on the VULTURES album are the first time she has been immortalized rapping on a record.

Miami listening event controversy

The VULTURES listening event also caused a stir when Kanye West wore a black Ku Klux Klan-style hoodie. The headdress only left holes for his eyes. However, he himself did not comment on his look, which was reminiscent of the racist secret society founded in 1865, which was primarily active in the southern states of the USA and was known for its high, pointed headgear.

Tracklist

Some details of VULTURES, according to several media reports the title of the album, were already known before. Among other things, Ty Dolla $ign published a photo with the presumed tracklist of the work on his Instagram page. This contains 17 tracks, including “Everybody”, “Back To Me”, “Fuk Sumn”, “Drunk”, “Worship” and “Unlock”.

Release date and band name

The collaboration between Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign is said to have the project name ¥$ – the yen sign stands for Ye (as Kanye West now calls himself), the dollar sign for his colleague. An official release date has not yet been officially announced, but many are speculating a release on December 15, 2023.
