Kanye West Shows Up in a Ku Klux Klan-Style Hood (Video)

The rapper presented himself so provocatively on stage at a VULTURES listening party.

Kanye West has once again caused a stir for wearing a Ku Klux Klan-style black hood that left only holes for his eyes at a listening party for his upcoming album VULTURES. However, he himself did not comment on his look, which is reminiscent of the racist secret society founded in 1865, which was primarily active in the southern states of the USA and was known for its high, pointed headgear.

The event, where West sported the cone-shaped headdress during a live performance, took place on Tuesday (December 12) in Miami. In addition to music greats like Chris Brown, Kodak Black and Offset, West’s children North, Saint and Chicago were also there.

West’s past controversies

Kanye West had previously caused a stir with his Yeezy brand when he presented T-shirts with the inscription “White Lives Matter” at a fashion show in October 2022. In the same month he also made anti-Semitic statements, while he now appears to deny these accusations in an explicit text on the album VULTURES. “I ain’t anti-Semitic/ I just fucked a Jewish bitch,” the lyrics say, as you can see in X’s live video above.

The past controversies also led to Adidas ending its partnership with the rapper, which not only affected the financial success of West’s brand but also led to retailers like Foot Locker removing Yeezy’s products from their shelves.

VULTURES: This is what awaits us

The VULTURES album cover features a painting by Caspar David Friedrich, a German Romantic landscape painter who was later supported by the Nazis. Striking similarities in the lettering of the album title and its placement are reminiscent of the album cover of the Norwegian black metal band Burzum, which was controversial because of right-wing extremist positions.

VULTURES is a collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign. Other guest artists on the record include Nicki Minaj, Young Thug and Lil Baby. West’s daughter North is also said to rap on the record. Timbaland is also believed to be involved. It is believed that the album will be released on Friday, December 15th. However, there is no concrete information about this.
