Kanye West made unauthorized use of Backstreet Boys samples

In the teaser for a new song, the rapper also included a melody from the 90s…

In a short clip, Kanye West shared a snippet of a song that will be featured on his new album VULTURES. The video has caused a stir on social media because the track is a new version of the Backstreet Boys hit “Everybody” from 1997. It will now be a challenge for the rapper to release the title in its entirety, as the collaboration album with Ty Dolla $ign, VULTURES, is scheduled to be released on December 15th. It is unclear whether West is even interested in clarifying the issue. There is currently no statement from him.

Another video from an album listening event in Miami also shows that Ty Dolla $ign is also featured on the song and, among other things, sings the Backstreet Boys’ original lyrics. However, it is unknown whether West requested the sample and was turned down, or whether he did not ask at all.

Tracklist reveals Timbaland song

Ty Dolla $ign shared Kanye West’s customary handwritten tracklist on Instagram, revealing that the record will contain 17 songs. Among the songs listed is the first single from the album of the same name, VULTURES, which was released in November.

If you take a closer look at the track listing, you will notice that the track “New Body” is there. This track has been floating around the internet for several years with a Nicki Minaj part as a leak. “Timbo Freestyle” also suggests a collaboration with Timbaland, who followed suit shortly afterwards and posted the list on Instagram with the words: “One of my best works,” thus confirming the suspicions.
