Instead of new music, new shoes: Kanye West has teased a new sneaker on his “Yeezy” Instagram account. If this does indeed come to market, it will be the brand’s first new one to come out since its break with Adidas.

The announced kick is a shoe entirely in black. The name of the model: BL-01. Possibly a reference to his album BULLY, which has been registered on and off. There is a clip with the prototype on the socials, in which you can see that the sneaker comes without laces and has a grooved sole.

Ye probably doesn’t want to be held back anymore
It was not until October 2024 that the legal dispute between West and Adidas was settled through a settlement. The sports brand wanted to part ways with the rapper, producer and fashion designer (they had previously worked together on Yeezy) because Adidas did not see the US star’s anti-Semitic statements as compatible with the company.
Recently, Ye got upset again about the way things were handled on Instagram and claimed that he had done a “phenomenal job” for Adidas and that he now felt unfairly treated. The reason for the rant: In his opinion, Adidas was intentionally lowering the Google ranking of its website yeezy.com. So if you Google the search term “Yeezy”, the first thing you would get to is the Adidas website. The next suggestions that appear are re-seller websites, but not the address of Ye himself. He denounces this.
His statement on social media said, among other things: “Stop, your moves are holding me back. Our partnership is complete. You are a $60 billion company that froze my accounts. Now that I’m back on my feet, I won’t stand for it.” He would feel “oppressed.” But now more than ever he wanted to do his own thing: “People wanted me to believe that I couldn’t do it alone. Yeezy is for the people, everything else got in the way.”
When will the new Yeezy shoe be released?
There is currently no specific release date for the new footwear.

Kanye West was recently in the headlines because he is said to have choked model Jennifer An with both hands and orally penetrated her with his fingers while filming a music video. The incident is said to have taken place in New York’s Chelsea Hotel in 2010, during the recording of the video for musician La Roux’s “In For The Kill”. The rapper was hired here for a cameo appearance. The model accused West of sexual assault and strangulation in a lawsuit filed in November.
Plus: It wasn’t until mid-November 2024 that Kanye West, who calls himself “Ye”, was sued by a former employee. He claimed that West harassed him with anti-Semitic tirades and forced him to wait in his hotel suite while West had loud sex with his wife Bianca Censori and a masseuse in an adjoining room. Further lawsuits against the musician for anti-Semitic statements and sexual harassment, for example in the case of his former assistant Lauren Pisciotta, are still pending.
