Kalush Orchestra responds to Song Contest in the United Kingdom: “Grateful that they want to organize it on our behalf” | Music

“Of course we are sorry that the Eurovision Song Contest will not take place in Ukraine next year, but we are grateful that the United Kingdom wants to organize it on our behalf,” says singer Oleh Psiuk. He continues: “We will do everything we can to make Ukraine win again.”

It was already announced in June that the Song Contest would not take place in Ukraine. As a result, people quickly looked in the direction of Great Britain. Their entry finished in second place this year in Turin. The news was officially announced on Monday.

Because they have won this year’s edition, Ukraine can go straight to the grand final. The so-called ‘Big 5’ (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK itself) also continue directly. It is not yet known in which city the Song Contest will take place. Cities that are interested can apply from this week.
