Kaluga governor signed a decree on restrictions for migrants

The Governor of the Kaluga Region, Vladislav Shapsha, signed a decree limiting the involvement of migrants in trade, transport, catering and recruitment in 2022, says on the website of the regional authorities.

Migrants will not be able to work in grocery stores and household appliances, in public transport and taxis, in cafes, restaurants, canteens and catering, grocery delivery services, as well as in recruitment agencies. Employers have three months to comply with the orders.

On February 11, the head of the region announced that the Kaluga region would withdraw from the federal program to assist the voluntary resettlement of compatriots living abroad, and that the region would introduce a ban on attracting foreigners on patents to work in some areas of the economy.

Shapsha made this decision after visiting the local migration center. There he found out that some of those migrants who have already received a certificate of Russian language proficiency do not know it. “In Russian, no belmes!” Shapsha said after the visit.
