Kalle Rovanperän participation in the drifting Drift Master series competition in Alahärmä Powerpark started in a sad way.

Rallitähti’s Toyota Supra had a tough time in the first sorting run of the race in Alahärmä.

Rovanperä knocked the right rear end of his Supra into the wall right at the first corner. The journey continued for a while, until the rear end of the car, which suffered severe damage, forced the Finn to stop his performance.

– I didn’t feel like I hit anything, but the corner of the concrete wall shook so badly that I hit it, Rovanperä reports on Instagram.

Rovanperä’s car was brought from the track back to the maintenance area on a lift. The mechanics have to rush to get the car in driving condition for the next attempt.

The competition is still ongoing. Rovanperä’s game has not been played yet.

– The boys are trying to fix the car. I hope we can continue, Rovanperä said on Instagram.

Rovanperä was not the only driver who hit the wall in the opening corner and rolled his car. Huge numbers of wrecked cars have been seen in the sorting drive, when the drivers’ driving lines have slipped into the concrete wall. This is not typical drifting.

This season, Rovanperä will participate in four Drift Masters series competitions in addition to touring the World Rally Championship.

At the beginning of June, the race in Sweden ended in disappointment, when the car suffered a technical fault right from the start.

Kalle Rovanperä presented his drifting skills in 2019 Jyväskylä.
