Eintracht Frankfurt is looking for a new attacker. The club apparently found what they were looking for in England.
Will Eintracht Frankfurt step up their offensive game this winter? As “Bild” reports, the Hessians are on Arnaud Kalimuendo. The striker is currently under contract with Nottingham Forest.
But Kalimuendo hardly gets a chance at the Premier League club. The Frenchman has only appeared on the field eight times for his team in the league. Nottingham only signed him from Stade Rennes last summer for 30 million euros.
According to the report, Frankfurt has wanted to sign Kalimuendo several times. However, the deal has not yet come to fruition. Now the 23-year-old is at the top of sports director Markus Krösche’s wish list. A loan combined with a subsequent purchase option is considered likely. According to the portal “transfermarkt.de”, Kalimuendo’s market value is currently 25 million euros.
However, the deal for Kalimuendo should not prevent another planned transfer for the storm. Frankfurt also wants to sign Younes Ebnoutalib from SV Elversberg. The second division team’s top scorer, with whom the SGE is said to have already agreed, has a different profile than Kalimuendo and would therefore complement him well. While Ebnoutalib is 1.91 meters tall, Kalimuendo is only 1.75 meters tall.
Elversberg is said to have rejected an initial offer for Ebnoutalib for 6.5 million euros. According to the report, Frankfurt has already made improvements. The new offer for the Saarland star should be 8 million euros. This is also intended to outdo VfL Wolfsburg, who are also reportedly interested in Ebnoutalib.
Eintracht is currently struggling with personnel problems in the storm. German international Jonthan Burkardt will be out until at least the end of January due to an injury. Michy Batshuayi will probably be missing from Dino Toppmöller’s team for even longer. Elye Wahi has not yet been able to convince in the Eintracht jersey.
