1. FC Kaiserslautern needs a new sports director. According to consistent media reports, Enis Hajri announced his resignation after the 0-1 loss against 1. FC Köln on Sunday. The 41-year-old actually had a contract until the summer of 2025 and would have been required in the transfer phase coming up in January.

At first “Picture“reported on the departure. The club did not initially confirm the news. After the 0-1 defeat against 1. FC Cologne at the end of the year, Hajri is said to have spoken to the team in the dressing room and informed them of the decision.

Hajri was responsible, among other things, for transfers and squad planning. Managing director Thomas Hengen is now likely to start looking for a new sports director as a link between him and the team and the coaching team around head coach Markus Beginning.
