Conversation with Choupo-Moting after the World Cup
Oliver Kahn has put a stop to a possible move from Cristiano Ronaldo to Bayern Munich. The CEO of Munich can “rule out” that the 37-year-old attacker, who is the world’s most valuable player without a club after his contract with Manchester United was terminated, will one day be active with the German record champions, as he said in an interview with “Sky Sport “ emphasized.
“We have already dealt with it – it is also our duty. But we have a clear idea, a clear philosophy of how our squad should be put together. We all appreciate him, there’s no discussion, we all love Cristiano Ronaldo, but that’s something that doesn’t fit into our idea,” said Kahn.
FC Bayern had already been linked with the Portuguese, who is currently at the World Cup, in the summer, but even then the bosses praised the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, but rejected a transfer. Shortly before Portugal’s first World Cup game in Qatar against Ghana, Man United announced the separation from the superstar because he had heavily criticized the club in an interview. Among other things, Ronaldo had said that he felt “betrayed” by the traditional British club.

Kahn on Tottenham Kane rumours: ‘We deal with a lot of players’
Another striker who has been the subject of Bayern rumors for months is Harry Kane. The working paper of the 29-year-old from Tottenham Hotspur, with a market value of 90 million euros the shared third most valuable professional in the Premier League, ends in 2024. If the captain of the English national team does not extend, “Spurs” would have the last chance next summer bring in a reasonable fee for him.
“Of course he’s a very good player, but there are also many other very good players,” Kahn explained cautiously. “I’ve read that everywhere too. Oliver Kahn and Harry Kane. Hasan (Salihamidzic) and Harry Kane. We deal with many, many players and it’s not okay to talk about players who are signed to other clubs. Again: We have a very good squad that is doing an excellent job at the moment.”

According to Sky Sport, Kane is in conflict. On the one hand, he wants to break the Premier League’s goal record of 260 goals, on the other hand, the attacker, who currently has 195 goals in the English top flight, could imagine a new challenge.
FC Bayern: Kahn announces conversation with Choupo-Moting
Munich’s “very good squad” also includes Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, who blossomed after the departure of Robert Lewandowski (34) and has already scored eleven goals in 16 games. The 33-year-old is doing “excellently”, Kahn also attested to him and announced a possible contract extension beyond 2023. “We’ll sit down after the World Cup and then we’ll see how we can do it.” Choupo-Moting is the only player in Munich whose contract expires next summer.
Goalkeeper and captain Manuel Neuer is tied until 2024. At the end of the contract he would be 38 years old. However, Kahn can imagine keeping the veteran for longer. “Manuel continues to deliver top performances, world-class performances and as long as that is the case, he can continue to do so until he is 40. He can still do it in his 40s. So why shouldn’t we keep extending his contract again and again?” asked the Bayern boss.

Neuer himself had said in the past that he could imagine being a professional at the age of 40 if his body could take it and he still felt enough motivation. After Thomas Müller (33), he is the second longest-serving player at FC Bayern.
