Shopping in the center of Zoetermeer? If you don’t live downtown, parking can be expensive. Then we are talking about hard knocks, big punches, big blows. So money. But how many euros exactly do you spend on parking on the street in the city center?

Travel site Weflycheap.nl investigated parking costs in all municipalities in the Netherlands. Good to know: the rates for on-street parking in October 2025 were taken into account.

Parking costs in Zoetermeer

After exactly one hour of parking on the street in the city center, you will spend 2.90 euros, according to the study. The daily rate was also taken into account: the costs of leaving a car parked for the entire paid period of 24 hours. That will cost you 13.20 euros in Zoetermeer. Parking in a parking garage in the center of Zoetermeer is often cheaper because you don’t have to pay anything for the first two or three hours.

Most expensive and cheapest

The most expensive city to park your car for an hour is Utrecht: there you pay 7.84 euros for the first hour. Parking for a whole day in Amsterdam is the most expensive with one whopping 139.64 euros.

Where do you pay the fewest euros for parking? In Geldermalsen you pay 0.60 euros for the first hour of parking. The daily rate is the lowest in the towns of Zevenaar and Oldenzaal: there you pay a maximum of 5 euros for 24 hours.

About the research

For the research, Weflycheap.nl looked at the ‘most relevant paid zone in the center’ of municipalities. “If a center consists of multiple zones, the dominant zone is taken as the starting point. In cities where almost the entire center has a parking ban, such as Breda or Heerhugowaard, no rate is included.”
