Juventus: Paulo Dybala about to leave – oral agreement burst

No agreement on extension

Paulo Dybala will leave Juventus Turin for free next summer after seven years, Italian media such as “Sky” reported unanimously on Monday. Before that, there had been a meeting between those responsible for the Bianconeri and the attacker’s advisors. The talks ended after two hours without an agreement on an extension of the expiring contract.

Previously, there had already been an oral agreement in principle last October on a new working paper until 2026, which would have provided for a net salary of 8 million euros plus 2 million euros in bonuses. However, Juventus decided to withdraw this offer, which is said to be due to changed economic conditions but also due to Dybala’s susceptibility to injuries.

The Argentine international has struggled with muscular problems time and again this season. In 29 games across all competitions so far, Dybala was directly involved in 19 goals for Juventus. The attacker was not satisfied with the new conditions presented, which is why talks with other clubs should now be started. There is speculation about the interest of Serie A competitor Inter Milan.

Dybala before Juventus farewell: Among the most valuable free transfers

With a current market value of 40 million euros, Dybala would be the most valuable free transfer from Juventus, which hardly lets top performers go for free. So far, Gonzalo Higuaín (34) is at the top of the ranking, which was drawn to MLS club Inter Miami CF in summer 2020. In an international comparison, Dybala would place itself in the top 10 of the most valuable free transfers.
