Advisor Pimenta confirmed
Paul Pogba (29) has to postpone his comeback again and will miss the World Cup in Qatar. This was confirmed by Rafaela Pimenta, the Frenchman’s agent, to “Le Parisien“. Pogba, who made his second free transfer from Manchester United to Juventus in the summer, has not been able to play for the record champions this season due to injury.
Dream burst for Kanté, Jota & Co.: These players miss the World Cup injured
“It’s painful to tell them that Paul Pogba will still need time to recover from his injury. That’s why Paul will no longer be part of the Juventus squad before the World Cup break, nor will he be able to join the France squad in Qatar,” said Pimenta. Pogba was examined on his knee in Pittsburgh in the USA – Juventus also confirmed the further failure of the 2018 world champion.
Pimenta said: “If his wishes could change things, he would play tomorrow. But only hard work, perseverance and discipline changes things and that’s what Paul is thinking about during this difficult time. Paul will continue to work as hard as he can to get back to the fans and his team as soon as possible.”
It is unclear whether Pogba would have played a role at all in the plans of national coach Didier Deschamps, who also has to do without Chelsea’s N’Golo Kanté. He was regularly used for the “Red Devils” last in April.
