Juve, Dybala renewal: match skipped, the renewal remains in the balance

The parties, after a long wait, should have sat down at a table to clarify the future of Joya but the summit on the renewal has been postponed

The future of Paulo Dybala at Juventus remains in the balance, the meeting expected for tomorrow has been postponed and will be postponed to the championship stop, when the other renewals should also be discussed. When the entourage meets the Juventus management it will be the first time since the last summit which ended last October with a handshake and a goodbye at the signing. Five months later, however, the scenario appears completely different, and the agreement less obvious. At the center of the discussion are the terms of the new contract, the figures and the duration, but also the role of the player in the nascent cycle.

THE OCTOBER AGREEMENT

Dialogues with Dybala’s entourage resumed last summer. Jorge Antun had expressed to the new management (represented by the managing director Maurizio Arrivabene and the sporting director Federico Cherubini) the will of the player to remain in Juventus. The club – having heard Allegri who has always revealed the centrality of ten in his tactical project – had proposed a basic salary of 8 million, plus two bonuses, with the latter frozen in the first two years and to be added to the fixed part from the third year in then. The parties had also found a compromise on the conditions necessary to define the variable part, between individual and team objectives.

THE LOCATION OF ANTUN

The signing of the contract was frozen due to a problem related to Jorge Antun, the man who looks after Paulo Dybala’s interests. Family friend, with a background as a sports agent in the Argentine tennis movement but no experience in football. The ten of Juve, however, relied on him, who had to fix his position by enrolling in the register of prosecutors having obtained domiciliation in an Italian agency. The bureaucratic steps in Argentina first and in Italy after took some time, registration in the CONI register officially took place at the end of January.

THE JANUARY MARKET

In the meantime, Juve played a leading role in the January transfer market, anticipating the signings of Zakaria and especially Vlahovic. The latter has signed a contract worth seven million per season plus bonuses, a figure that could indicate the new ceiling in the locker room. The Serbian center-forward has taken Juve, to the sound of goals and performances, guaranteeing almost total coverage of all the matches on the calendar from his arrival to today. The coexistence with Dybala, however, was rather limited, following the physical problems that continued to keep the Argentine footballer still.

THE PHYSICAL HOLD

His physical condition at times precarious, having already missed more than ten matches and his presence in the second leg with the second round with Villarreal is still at risk, push the club to think more about the proposed super contract. The rumors point to a downward proposal on 7 million plus bonuses, but also a possible automatic renewal option linked to the player’s performance and above all to his attendance. Conditions that could increase the doubts of the person concerned, on which other clubs have come forward in the meantime.
