Juve, Chiesa trains alone at Continassa: when he returns

The deejay, in the summer season, does not go on vacation. Federico Chiesa spent the weekend in Forte dei Marmi, his historic holiday destination, and on Instagram he posted a photo from Twiga in a deejay version. Cheerful life as an off-season athlete? Yes but … in time. Today Federico will be training at the Continassa, probably alone in an almost deserted sports center. Until the weekend, we saw Danilo, Zakaria, even Kean after leaving the retirement of the national team, but almost all of them ready to switch off: the teammates are on vacation, while Chiesa trains to return as soon as possible from the injury of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee. Holidays, peacefully, postponed.

Chiesa got hurt in early January, away from Roma. The Olimpico, who had already knocked out Zaniolo and Demiral in the same match, took away nine months of football from him. Already that evening, he understood: compromised knee and season over. Chiesa has been training ever since, with the calendar in mind. The 2022-23 season will resume in mid-August and Federico will probably meet again on the pitch between September and October, just in time to get used to high-level football before the Qatar World Cup break. In recent weeks, at Continassa, he has done physiotherapy: one workout a day, between the gym, swimming pool and exercises in the field. It has been running for a few days, a historically important passage for those who have to go back from problems to the Crusader. In short, the recovery is proceeding well and the autumn will see him again with a black and white striped shirt. Unless there are surprises, Juve will return to the field on Monday 4 July and Federico will not be in the group: it is logical that he will start alone, with a different program, to work more and more with the team during the summer.

ONE YEAR, ONE LIFE

Chiesa will probably only stop for a week, between the end of June and the beginning of July, and it seems like a message of life: never forget that everything can change in a moment. A year ago, Fede was preparing to play a European in which he convinced Europe: he was decisive for Italy throughout the knockout phase and climbed the hierarchy of international football. When Allegri, rather doubtful at the beginning of the season, seemed convinced of his centrality in Juve 2022-23, the ligament broke. And Federico, a year later, has to start all over on his own. He was in the center of Europe, now he trains at the sports center while the others are on the beach.

The weekend is his exception. Federico has been going to Forte dei Marmi since he was a child, as a loyalist of a city very loyal to football, considering that the 1934 and 1938 world champions already came to Versilia. Dad Enrico lived at the La Fenice baths, Federico often stays at home, maybe goes by boat to Portofino, considering that padel – last year’s passion – is obviously not feasible. The outings are for the evenings. Chiesa junior attends the clubs in the area with his girlfriend Lucia Bramani and at the weekend he also published a photo with Nathan Falco Briatore, 12 years old, son of Flavio. A shot, a toast, a song and then off to Turin. There is a season to prepare and a 2022 to make sense of. Even if without the World Cup, at Vasco, there is no sense.
