Juventus secures the quarterfinals of the Italian Cup against Empoli and makes peace with the Juventus curve. Thanks to the clear 4-0 win over Cagliari in the round of 16 thanks to goals from Dusan Vlahovic (first half), Teun Koopmeiners (directly from a free kick), Francisco Conceicao and Nico Gonzalez (final goal). Thiago Motta in one fell swoop finds victory, confidence, goals and some ideas that could also be useful for the future: from Locatelli in the center to Koopmeiners in the midfield up to Yildiz as an attacking midfielder. Ideas that will perhaps be useful already on Sunday at Monza. Bitter evening for the Sardinians, who will start again from the away match in Venice.

vlahovic-goal

Thiago Motta changes Juventus and starts with some experiments: Locatelli at the center of defense and McKennie at full-back, Koopmeiners in midfield and relaunches Yildiz in the attacking midfield behind the untouchable Vlahovic. Nicola leaves with Gaetano in tow of Lapadula. Juventus started slowly, but as the minutes passed they gained courage and danger. Thiago Motta’s team pushes mainly to the right: Savona overlaps and frees up Conceicao’s one-on-ones, as poisonous as a snake with his mix of feints and dribbling. The Portuguese tries in every way to break the deadlock: first with a cross for Yildiz’s scissors kick, then with a curling shot from the left and finally with a fireball that forces Scuffet to make a super save. The Sardinians hold on, but are increasingly crushed and rely mostly on Lapadula’s angry outbursts. Juventus’ courage was rewarded at the end of the first half. Mbangula finds Vlahovic in the area and the Serbian, with the movement of a great striker, turns in the narrow and with a precise shot like those from cold Scuffet billiards and rushes to celebrate under the curve, the same as in Saturday’s argument. This time it’s just chants and applause, like during the warm-up peace with the fans who wanted DV9 and the Bianconeri close to them to the chant of “Dusan Vlahovic under the curve”.

koop and chico goals

Peace made and Juventus lighter. The Bianconeri, in fact, leave the locker room with the same spirit and without any desire to retreat. And so after less than ten minutes of the second half Koopmeiners took care of closing the match and qualifying early. The Dutchman, after having broken the deadlock in the championship against Bologna, scored the 2-0 with a splendid free kick that preceded the celebration at the Allianz Stadium. The double did not slow down the Bianconeri who continued to try, so much so that Vlahovic came close to scoring a double on several occasions (2 goals disallowed for offside). In the second part there is also room for Nico Gonzalez and the Argentine, in the second part after Saturday’s and the long absence, comes close to scoring a header, one of his specialities. Completing the celebrations is Conceiçao, who scores the 3-0 with an invention of his own and deserves a standing ovation together with Vlahovic upon his early exit from the field. When the result seems definitive, here is Nico’s 4-0 with the spoon.
