The negotiation with Barcelona based on the loan with conditional redemption obligation: a leading role is ready for the Uruguayan, in a defense that needs to become solid again
Barcelona will face Real Madrid in the Spanish Cup final, in Jeddah, Arabia, then return to Europe and at that point will dissolve their reservations about the future of Araujo, who in recent days has jumped to the top of Juventus’ approval list. The road is not entirely downhill for the Juventus club but enough confidence is filtering through on the concrete possibility of pulling off the coup within 48 hours: the Continassa men have already convinced the Uruguayan defender and are ready to accept the conditions for which the Barcelona would be willing to give in, considering that the negotiation to secure the player is complex.

Araujo’s contract expires in 2026 and talks about a renewal stopped very soon. The player is now looking for a context that can give him space and confidence after a bad injury that kept him out for quite a while, and Juve – in addition to being ready to bet on him – also offers him a role of prominence to highlight his leadership. The Uruguayan has already expressed his approval of the Juventus destination and is only waiting for the green light from his club, which among other things is in a difficult situation due to economic issues and can benefit from an immediate transfer: the transfer Araujo’s Juventus player is on the basis of a onerous loan conditional on a series of objectives which should trigger the obligation to buy. And so Giuntoli puts the first shot in the barrel, aware that it will not be enough to bring about the emergency in defense after the injuries of Bremer and Cabal and the exit of Danilo (who continues to negotiate the termination of the contract), but it is certainly the first step to put the department back in a position to have valid alternative solutions to Gatti and Kalulu.
