Juulia Turkkila and Matthias Versluis presented a tremendous rise and finished 11th in ice dance at the World Championships in Figure Skating in Boston.
The Finnish couple crashed on a rhythm dance on Friday and only went to Saturday from 20th place. However, the free dance went great and brought 120.86 points. The total points were 188.95.
The tango -themed performance was the seventh best in the entire race. Turkkila and Versluis were able to reset their thoughts after Friday’s failure.
– Today we lived on the ice in an instant and emotion, and everything flowed well. We skated together focusing on music, Versluis described In the Figure Skating Association bulletin.
-The last couple of weeks will be remembered as a positive memory trail due to a rewarding American training period and the big success of free dance, Turkkila continued.
Another Finnish couple Yuka Orihara -Jeho Pirinen grabbed 14.72 with 14th place.
Finland secured two places for ice dance for the Milan-Cortina Olympics and Figure Skating World Championships in 2026.
For the third time in a row, the World Championship gold was won by Madison Chock and Evan Bates. They scored 222.06 points.
