After a sushi dinner in Los Angeles, Justin Bieber throws a bottle at photographers – joining a long history of paparazzi escalations.

It is well known that Justin Bieber does not like to share his private life with the public and tends to stay out of it outside of music. He gave his last live performance in a long time at the 2026 Grammy ceremony, but after that it became quiet again. His relationship with paparazzi was never really good either – now, as in the past, he recently attracted attention with an incident between him and one of them.

Bottle throwing after dinner with Hailey Bieber

On Friday, March 6, 2026, Justin Bieber went out to eat with his wife Hailey Bieber at a sushi restaurant in Los Angeles. After the couple finished late in the evening, they were swarmed by photographers as they made their way to a black SUV in an underground parking garage, wanting to take a coveted photo of the stars.

From Video footage published by TMZ shows the singer visibly frustrated about the advent of the paparazzi. As a result, he and his wife quickly got into the car, but he didn’t leave it at that and threw a bottle of the “Fiji” water brand at the photographers. The bottle didn’t hit anyone and just fell to the ground. The excitement was over as quickly as it had started and the couple drove away.

Incidents in the past

This new clash between Justin Bieber and photographers adds to a history of such incidents. The 32-year-old repeatedly went viral for his arguments with paparazzi and made no secret of his resentment towards them. The last time he clashed with them was in the summer of 2025: Shortly before the release of the seventh studio album “Swag,” he confronted a paparazzi and asked him irritably: “You don’t notice that I’m here on business, do you?” The sentence quickly became a meme on social media.

He had previously published a video via Instagram in April 2025 in which he criticized the way paparazzi treated him. At that time he showed his perspective: You could see a flash of flashes that started immediately after he stepped onto the street, as well as photographers blocking the way to a car. In the video he said: “Look at these people!”

The April 2025 incident was reminiscent of a similar moment in 2014, when his Ferrari was rammed from behind by a persistent photographer. “There should be laws against what I just experienced,” he wrote on X at the time. “We should have learned from the death of Princess Diana…”
