Former US Attorney General Pam Bondi has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. She confirmed this to the American news site CNN. Bondi was fired in April by President Trump.
Bondi is being treated for thyroid cancer and had surgery a few weeks ago. She is still recovering from that, but she says she is “doing well.”
News site Axios reported the diagnosis on Tuesday based on sources. The site also reported that Bondi has been appointed to a White House advisory committee focused on artificial intelligence.
The former attorney general is expected to testify Friday before the House Oversight Committee, the House of Representatives’ main investigative body, in the investigation into the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
