And then with the new look we are really beautiful”. The former Rome goalkeeper is playing the most important game of his life next to little Enzo, 15 years old. A battle started some time ago: “When we received the diagnosis of the disease it was a serious blow. We had no certainties about the future. In this period we lived beautiful moments and other complicated. But my son has never lost his smile, he is always happy. It is he who gives strength to the whole family. We want to win this struggle together. We still have a lot to do”.
Enzo is a great fan of sport, like dad.
“I traveled the world for the ball. Today the most beautiful place where I want to be forever is next to him. Let’s look together the games, he also loves tennis. He is a big fan of Cristiano Ronaldo and Sinner, as well as being a very fans of the Santos”.
With Neymar there was already a beautiful meeting.
“We met a few months ago, Enzo wanted to know him so much. Neymar gave him a shirt, but my son warned him: ‘Ney you have to stay in shape, next year we play the world championship. We need you’. We hope to keep the promise.”
So, the next one to embrace is Jannik.
“It was one of the many sportsmen who recorded the encouragement video for Enzo. It would be great to be able to see them together, maybe in Rome. He does not miss a match.”

“Many former companions call me and send messages. People often address a thought and a prayer for Enzo, this is enough for us. Everyone has their own everyday life, we all have obstacles to overcome. My life is like this: I work, I am close to my son and together we face what happens. Every day is different. It depends on the outcome of visits, exams and how he responds to care”.
Has the immense affection received in the last few days surprised it?
“A lot. It is not the first time that I publish a video in which Enzo and I razes the hair to zero. On social media story of our battle. He is a superhero, in these five years I have never seen him pour a tear. This is the right way to face the disease. I hope that everyone can always pay more attention to the people who live our situation. We need accessible care, the research must continue. So as to experience less painful treatments. What is the most beautiful moment shared with Enzo?
“He teaches me to live. I read it in his eyes, I see him in his smile. We enjoy every second together with the rest of the family, my wife and little Gaia. See Enzo Contento makes us feel good”.
What could make it even happier?
“Celebrating Brazil’s victory in the next World Cup. Maybe even the Roma Scudetto at the Circus Maximus. The Giallorossi shirt is framed in my office. His is ready in the wardrobe”.
