Julian Lennon has revealed that he has been diagnosed with coronary artery disease and is also pre-diabetic. In an Instagram post, he appealed to his fans to “get checked sooner rather than later.”
“You never know what hidden health problems you might have,” he added.
He continued: “Despite these problems, I caught them early enough to reverse some of the damage and will hopefully live a healthy, long life.” Finally, Lennon thanked the doctors who accompanied him.
Previous health problems
Lennon, 63, is the eldest son of John Lennon and his first wife Cynthia Powell. In February 2020, Lennon had a lifelong birthmark on his head removed after a biopsy revealed it was cancerous. “Life is too short,” he wrote on Facebook at the time. “Don’t make it any shorter by ignoring your own health.”
Two years later, Lennon revealed on The Joe Rogan Experience that a biopsy had been taken from his arm. “I go for proper checkups about twice a year, for all intents and purposes,” he said on the podcast. “Just to make sure I’m still here. Because I like life. I want to be here for a long time.”
Julian inspired several Beatles songs, including “Hey Jude,” “Good Night,” and “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.” Following in his father’s footsteps, Lennon became a musician himself and released his debut single “Too Late for Goodbyes” in 1984 as well as the album “Valotte”. His seventh studio album “Jude” was released in 2022 via BMG.
