The disappearance of Jesse Puljujärvi’s World Championship gold medal has become a widely discussed topic in recent days.
Puljujärvi said on Monday that his gold medal was stolen at the Åke Karaoke bar during the Lions’ World Cup celebrations.
Now TPS forward Veli-Matti Savinainen, who celebrated World Cup gold with the Lions in 2019, has also thrown his spoon into the soup.
Savinainen told on Instagramthat he himself experienced a similar situation after the championship.
– After one day, the medal was missing for a week and a half, says Savinainen in the video.
In the end, his medal was found in a surprising place: at MTV’s fall program launch event.
– Jukka Hildén dug a gold medal out of his pocket and asked if the yellow jellona was missing a medal, Savinainen states and says that the medal was found back for him.
Savinainen hopes that Puljujärvi’s medal will also be found and returned to its owner.
– I hope Jesse does [kultamitali] to find for Jesse, because we Finns are an honest people.

Hildén, who became famous from Duudsons, recalls the episode from seven years ago with amusement.
According to him, the gold team of the Lions celebrated the championship at Helsinki’s Ravintola Teatter, where the players had their own VIP room. Hildén was there with his wife Chachi Hildén.
– I just remember that I woke up in the morning and saw that no god knows whose gold medal I have around my neck. The wife just looked next to her and said: “I don’t know, but you’re definitely the world champion now,” Hildén laughs.
– So I honestly didn’t even know whose medal I had around my neck.
In retrospect, Savinainen had guessed that she had apparently come to the conclusion in the wee hours of the night that Hildén should take better care of the medal than she herself.
– I don’t know from which textbook it thought that Duudson would keep the gold medal better.

Hildén kept the medal in his possession until the launch of MTV’s autumn program, where he brought out his discovery in front of the audience. In the end, the medal was returned to Savinainen, when Hildén took it personally to the world champion.
– But the same greetings to Veli-Mat, that return my medal or I will attack my wife.
