The Council of Ministers has agreed to the proposal from Minister Uitermark of the Interior and Kingdom Relations to appoint Prof. Dr. Judith van Erp as a member of the Finance Supervision Committee (CTFPP). The appointment starts on March 1, 2025.
The CTFPP advises the Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations on the application and supervision of compliance with the Political Parties Financing Act. The committee consists of three members who are appointed for at most four years. The appointment period of Van Erp has been shortened to two years due to the intended entry into force of the Political Parties Act (WPP). As of this law, the current form of supervision, with the Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations as a supervisor and the Commission as an advisory body, is replaced by an independent supervisory authority.
Judith van Erp is professor of Regulatory Governance at Utrecht University. Her expertise focuses on supervision and regulation.
She follows Mrs. Helma Neppérus who resigned from 1 March 2024 as a member of the CTFPP at its own request.
