US President Donald Trump wants to sue the major US bank JPMorgan Chase.

The Republican announced on the Truth Social platform that he would file the lawsuit in the next two weeks. Trump cited the reason that JPMorgan ChaseCo had “wrongfully and inappropriately” terminated his account after the protests on January 6th. He presented no evidence of this.

The date is likely to refer to the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021 by Trump supporters. At that time, numerous demonstrators violently broke into the US Parliament building. The election of Trump’s then opponent, Democrat Joe Biden, was supposed to be officially confirmed there.

Since then, Trump has repeatedly repeated the debunked claim that he was deprived of his election victory through fraud. Right at the start of his second term, Trump pardoned everyone involved in the storming of the Capitol. In his new post on Truth Social, the US President again wrote that the election was manipulated.

In premarket US trading on the NYSE, JPMorgan shares temporarily lost 1.59 percent to $307.50.
