Joss Whedon denies allegations – threat against Gal Gadot was a misunderstanding

Writer-director Joss Whedon, whose career has been plagued by allegations of various kinds of abuse in recent years, opened up about the allegations against him in an extensive interview with New York Magazine.

In the interview, Whedon explains that he is now in therapy and working on himself. Even if some of the allegations against him were true, others would need correction, said the 57-year-old.

In particular, the allegations of abuse by his fellow actors GalGadot and Ray Fisher spoke at length to Whedon. Gadot had claimed last year that Whedon had her on the set of “Justice League” threatened to destroy her career after the two clashed multiple times. Whedon directed the blockbuster while filming Zack Snyder. Now he rejects Gadot’s allegations and says in an interview: “I don’t threaten people. Who does that?”

In addition, he explained “Buffy” inventorthat the Israeli actress misunderstood as English is not her first language. Gadot wanted to delete a scene, to which he replied that she could only do it over his dead body. Later, rumors circulated that he had spoken about her dead body and that he wanted to tie Gadot to the tracks.

Whedon also commented on the racism allegations of the “Justice League” co-star Ray Fisher. Fisher, whose role of cyborg had been severely cut after Whedon took over the direction, accusing him of racism. Whedon now clarified that he had not cut Fisher from the film for racist reasons, but because Fisher’s role at test screenings was by far the least popular with viewers had been inside.
