Singer Josje Huisman thinks it is a shame that she was not asked for the reunion of K3. Huisman was part of K3 from 2009 to 2015, when she won a talent show in which a new singer was sought.
Today it was announced that the original singers of K3 – Kathleen Aert, Karen Damen and Kristel Verbeke – return with reunion concerts after sixteen years. In October the women are in the Sportpaleis in Antwerp, next April they will be in Rotterdam Ahoy. “If they want to do it that way, I have every respect,” she responds in a video on Instagram.
Huisman went to primary school in Steenwijkerwold and lived from her fourteenth to the age of eighteen in Meppel. Her father was a pastor there from 2000 to 2019.
The rumor that the original occupation of K3 would come together again went around. “I knew nothing myself. Karen called me to tell it. I first thought she was calling to ask if I also wanted to sing a song, but that was not the case,” says Huisman. “I would have liked that, I wouldn’t have said no.”
Although Huisman says he understands the decision, she is also somewhat disappointed. “I sincerely think it is a bit of a shame. I would think: maybe everyone should pass by.” According to Huisman, K3 has many fans in all different occupations. “You have young fans, the older fans who were there from day one and everything in between. There are a lot of people who know K3 in the different formations. It had been fun.”
