On his X account, on the same day that commemorated the 50th anniversary of the last military coup in the country, the young libertarian YouTuber Marco Palazzo He uploaded an interview with a boy who agreed to give his opinion on the commemoration of the victims of the National Reorganization Process. In the viral note, the interviewee stated: “Every Montonero guerrilla, pro-Palestinian or pro-Iran must be taken to an island. Let them share their account among themselves, separating the good people in their place and the bad people, all segregated in the same place.”
The curious thing about the video, more than the unusual statement, is that the person reported by Palazzo was bare-chested, showing his body tone in the note. A detail that did not escape Jorge Rial, who took the opportunity to share the sequence of the report on his X account, with the following message: “She found a boyfriend!!!!! Congratulations little Nazi.” The journalist’s post caused outrage on the networks by classifying it as an unfortunate and out of place opinion on the part of the host of “Argenzuela”, and even classifying it as homophobic.
On the other hand, throughout its activity, Palazzo has positioned itself publicly with provocative and highly controversial speeches in relation to historical memory and human rights in Argentina. Various journalistic publications agree that, through his audiovisual productions, he has questioned widely accepted interpretations of the crimes of Nazism and has even vindicated figures such as Adolf Eichmann, one of the main logisticians responsible for the Holocaust, whom he came to present as someone who “followed orders and a victim of war.”
In another article he maintained that the repressor Miguel Etchecolatz “was not a genocide.” In addition, the influencer and model maintained that the phrase “The Malvinas are Argentine” is “a slogan of the Kirchnerists” and questioned Argentine sovereignty over the archipelago. In January 2025, he appeared at the LGBTIQ+ Anti-Fascist Assembly in Parque Lezama—where there were hundreds of people mobilized—and tried to film and scold those present. He ended up being escorted out of the venue by the City Police after being attacked by several attendees.
In this framework, his position is in tension with the consensus built around human rights both internationally and in Argentina after the last military dictatorship (1976-1983), since his interventions relativize or discuss the seriousness of the crimes of authoritarian regimes, which has generated strong rejection in political, journalistic and social spheres. The nickname of “Nazi child” that circulates in political and media spheres arises precisely from those public expressions, added to other provocative statements that placed him at the center of the controversy.
Palazzo’s visibility grew from its proximity to spaces linked to the ruling party. Javier Milei, since he participated in press conferences at the Casa Rosada invited by the presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni and maintains links with activists and media in the libertarian ecosystem. Although he does not hold formal positions in the Government, his presence in institutional settings and his dissemination through networks related to the ruling party fueled the debate on the role of political influencers in the construction of public discourse, especially on sensitive issues such as human rights and memory of the dictatorship.
