Images show the damaged launch pad of the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan after the Russian Soyuz MS-28 carrying two Russian cosmonauts and a NASA astronaut launched on Thursday. The crew reached the International Space Station without any problems, but the Russian space agency Roscosmos later reported that the launch facility was damaged by the powerful launch. According to Roscosmos, the site will be repaired quickly so that subsequent missions are not delayed. The Soyuz rocket lifted off at 12:28 a.m. Moscow time from Baikonur, which has been one of the most important launch sites for human spaceflight since the 1960s.
