It is striking and perhaps also unethical that Joop van den Ende chooses to look away from the bizarre misconduct of Rachel Hazes. Together with his daughter Iris van den Ende, he produces the annual Heel Holland Hazes concerts, much of the income from which ends up with the greedy widow. Can this continue?
Where is Joop?
Joop also knows perfectly well that those incomes go straight to Rachel’s war chest and that they therefore completely overload the legal system in our country. Why doesn’t Joop van den Ende intervene with Rachel Hazes now? Yes, I also find it strange that we don’t hear anything from him,” says TV authority Tina Nijkamp in the podcast Tina’s TV Update.
You would expect Joop to take responsibility, says Tina. “Because of course he is actually a very important man in that family. After André Hazes’ death, he really took care of Rachel and those children. He has worked with them a lot and those concerts are organized by his daughter, right.”
Revenue model
It is also in Joop’s business interests that Rachel keeps a low profile. “So there really is a revenue model for the Van den Ende family. Don’t know. I also think that Joop is somewhat done with it. At least, that’s what I can imagine. Of course I don’t know that for sure and I also don’t know what happens behind the scenes.”
But, Tina says: “I actually think that those Holland Zingt Hazes concerts have peaked. You also see that it was not broadcast on New Year’s Eve and maybe it will be finished at some point and it will just be a different kind of concert next year.”
Rob de Nijs
It’s time for something new, Tina thinks. “Maybe Holland Zingt De Nijs, because Joop is very busy with that now, with those musicals. Maybe Rob de Nijs will replace André Hazes at those Holland Zingt concerts.”
“If that is not possible because of those rights because Rachel has all kinds of rights, then they can of course come up with another name and produce around it. That is always possible.”
