He sometimes, with fear and trembling, quietly cycled to Haarlem. But that is not possible at the moment with his mobility scooter. His battery doesn’t allow that. “I can only drive twenty kilometers. Even less in this cold. I applied for a better battery from the municipality. But they say that I have to order a regional taxi. But I don’t want that. I want to feel free and be able to decide for myself where and when I go somewhere.”
Double feelings
Now, at the end of the year, he is still very happy with his mobility scooter. But he still has mixed feelings about the chaotic process. “If both parties had been a little more focused, it could have been resolved within a few weeks.”
