Jonas Hofmann: This Bayern star is “rightly” praised

Borussia Mönchengladbach international Jonas Hofmann raves about his DFB colleague Jamal Musiala from FC Bayern before the direct duel in the Bundesliga.

The 19-year-old is “rightly” praised, said Hofmann on “Sport1”, “because he has made a huge leap. He has already scored three goals and acts very cleverly in many moments. I particularly enjoy watching him, but Bayern have a lot of top players.”

Hofmann challenges the record champions with Gladbach on Saturday evening (6:30 p.m. / Sky).

This is behind the Gladbach upswing

Before the away game in the Allianz Arena, Hofmann looks back with satisfaction at the start under new coach Daniel Farke.

“The coach brought in a breath of fresh air,” he said: “You could feel that there was a plan. Everything is currently pointing upwards.”

The ongoing transfer rumors are “just a little topic at Borussia because we are so focused,” said Hofmann, who was traded at FC Bayern last summer but has since extended his contract until 2025.

The 30-year-old added: “It happens in the background, you hardly talk about it in the dressing room. That’s perhaps the key to success, that we don’t let ourselves be distracted by such things and concentrate on the essentials.”

Jonas Hofmann kept in touch with Max Eberl

Hofmann is still in contact with ex-sports director Max Eberl, who resigned in the spring due to exhaustion.

“There were a few WhatsApp messages. We always got along great, Max is a great person, so you ask how he’s doing. I was happy when I heard from time to time that he was better going,” said the former BVB professional.
