Joke Joosse-Bouma from Eelde received a Royal Decoration today. Mrs. Joosse-Bouma is now 91 years old and has worked for many years as a gynaecologist and gynaecologist-oncologist.
In that capacity she was active in Indonesia and Gabon, and later in Groningen from 1976 until her retirement in 1993 at the MSF (later UMCG).
Because she was also there for the patients, the families and colleagues outside her working hours, she now gets a ribbon. Even after her retirement she visited people who could use a listening ear, on behalf of the Protestant Community or the Protestant Christian Elderly Bond.
