Erica Meiland understands that Johnny de Mol is disappointed that his slur against her reality family has been so widely reported in the media. “He found it annoying,” says the SBS 6 star.

The Meilandjes will stop their years of reality adventure after the Christmas special. They do not want to extend their exclusive contract with SBS 6 and opt for a break to investigate what else they want. A tactic, thinks Johnny de Mol. “Isn’t that the first time they’ve said that?” he cynically remarked in front of the camera of De Telegraaf.

Johnny skeptical

According to Johnny, it is evident that the Meilandjes are mainly looking for more money. “What I say: first see, then believe. If I had a really successful program, my contract is expiring, yes, the first thing I would say is: ‘We’re stopping!’ Good for negotiations, right?”

Now that multiple parties can bid for the TV family, their market value can potentially increase. “First see and then believe,” says the son of Talpa boss John de Mol.

‘He’s annoyed about it’

Erica Meiland is now setting Weekend that Johnny is disappointed that his statements have been so widely reported. “What I do know, and we heard this from a reliable source, is that Johnny de Mol found it annoying that his words had been taken out of context in that interview. Unfortunately, we know everything about how that goes, so it is not a problem.”

What is true about the rumor that Erica was pissed at Talpa because she didn’t get a role in Gooische Vrouwen? “I hadn’t heard that yet, those rumors about the drama series and John de Mol. None of it is true, no. We have always worked well for Talpa, but now it is simply no longer reality.”
