Johnny de Mol is joking about his noisy private life

Johnny de Mol made a joke in HLF8 yesterday about his noisy private life. He jokingly asked Harm Edens as a substitute. “Because sometimes there is something going on in my life.”

Johnny de Mol cheerfully ignores the criticism of his staying on as a presenter of HLF8. He can still be seen every day on the eve of SBS 6. However, the presenter does not rule out the possibility that he will have to be absent in the coming period because of his noisy private life. After all, he struggles with fierce accusations from his ex Shima Kaes.

Johnny is joking

Yesterday Harm Edens sat in Johnny’s place for a while to promote a language quiz on SBS 6. He did fine at the head of the table, Johnny thinks. Joking: “That’s nice to know, Harm, because sometimes there is something going on in my life, then I can’t do a show… So can I call you to take over now and then?”

That is allowed, says Harm. “All the time. Chances are it’ll take a huge turn then, huh? In Tien voor Taal we also do poetry and literature. That’s not possible on SBS 6, but we’re doing it anyway.”

Two camps

Johnny still has to deal with a lot of critical reactions. “You have two camps, don’t you? One camp rallies behind Johnny and says, “Yeah, he says he didn’t do it. Until proven otherwise, he is not guilty either,” says presenter Manuel Venderbos in the AD Mediapodcast.

“Yes, and the other part…”, Angela de Jong adds. “We all have the Voice scandal still fresh in the back of our minds. How often have we seen an expert at the table who emphasizes that you have to take women who file a report seriously, because they have to cross a threshold, feel shame, are afraid of being destroyed?”

“I think that is exactly the case in Shima Kaes’s case, because she also knows how many friends and power the De Mol family has. Then I think the least you can do is take her seriously.”

The people who take Shima seriously belong of course to the other camp, the camp that finds it inappropriate that Johnny is still on television every night. But isn’t Shima just after money, as the De Mol family previously claimed?

Angela: “Maybe she did try to get money from the De Mol family first, which I also somewhat understand, because going into publicity like that and getting everything over you, while you know how many friends that family has in the media. … But that doesn’t mean what happened isn’t true.”

Tonight Johnny has William Rutten, Floor Jansen and Jet Bussemaker among others in the show. Rutger Castricum is his wingman. High five!
