John van den Heuvel thinks it is insane and very bad what Johan Derksen has said about his alleged Peter R. de Vries blockade at RTL Boulevard. “A very strong insinuation.”

The murdered crime journalist Peter R. de Vries would have turned 69 last month and Tina Nijkamp reflected on this on his birthday at the table at Today Inside. The TV authority was surprised that RTL Boulevard paid no attention to it at all. However, according to Johan Derksen, that was not so strange.

Block from John?

Johan states that this did not happen because John van den Heuvel, who was at odds with Peter in the last year of his life, was in the studio. “Boulevard is John van den Heuvel’s program, isn’t it, that’s a bit difficult.”

Colleague Wilfred Genee is friends with John and immediately stood up for him. “Yes, but that really has nothing to do with John van den Heuvel. I am one hundred percent sure of that. You may suspect that, but…”

Johan: “Well, the De Vries family can drink his blood.”

‘Going way too far’

What a ridiculous insinuation, John thinks. “I thought it was going very far that at one point he suggested that RTL Boulevard had not paid attention to his birthday (…) because I was on the broadcast. That I was responsible for that and I would have said: ‘Don’t do anything with that.’”

He continues in Wilfred’s radio program The Friday Move: “Well, that’s real… I can already see that I would go to the editor: ‘Hey, I’ll be there on Saturday, but if you do something for Peter R. de Vries’ birthday, then I won’t come.’ Well, insane, really! I thought it was a very strong insinuation.”

Mutual respect

Despite the fact that they had quarrels, according to John, the mutual respect has always remained. “Certainly. And it is no secret that we have not been very good in the last year, but it goes so far that I would prevent his birthday or death from being remembered…”

How does Johan arrive at that? “Yes, I have no idea… That man… Well, let’s not say anything about that.”

When studio guest Henk Westbroek shouts that Johan is a difficult man, John sneers: “Do you think so? Yes, for heaven’s sake…”
