John Mellencamp announces new album Orpheus Descending

John Mellencamp is back: With “Orpheus Descending” the rock and folk singer announces his 25th studio album. The 71-year-old self-produced the work and recorded it at his own Belmont Mall studio. “Orpheus Descending” will be released on June 2, 2023, and Mellencamp released the single “Hey God” along with the music video last Friday (April 21).

John Mellencamp is currently traveling with his “Live and In Person” tour through North America, which will end in Milwaukee on June 27th. There he presents, in addition to “Hey God”, other songs from the new album. Mellencamp last released a deluxe reissue of his album Scarecrow (1985) in November 2022.
