The viewing figures of Gooische Vrouwen are on the rise and are disappointing, especially in the commercial target group. John de Mol must talk to RTL, says Tina Nijkamp.
It was a huge ratings hit on television for years: Gooische Vrouwen. The scores of the current revival are a bit disappointing, but that is of course purely because the series can now also be seen on RTL’s Videoland and is many episodes ahead of it. People with a subscription will no longer watch the series on SBS 6.
‘Oh dear!’
Why did SBS 6 hand over the success of Gooische Vrouwen to its competitors? So they can split the costs, because there is nothing more expensive on television than drama series.
The question is: does John de Mol earn back his money with the commercial breaks on his TV channel? “Oh dear. Gooische Vrouwen has already ended for Videoland viewers (super fun last episode by the way!), but since last week it has really started to take its revenge on SBS 6 that they are three episodes behind,” writes ratings authority Tina Nijkamp. Under 10
The scores are particularly disappointing in the commercial target group — that is, people between the ages of 25 and 54 — according to Tina. “That target group is important for the return on investment“she says. “It now drops below ten percent, namely 9.5 percent. That’s half of Mr. Frank Visser of VI.”
According to her, this is just downright disappointing. “Of course there will be delayed viewers, but those commercial breaks during linear viewing are important.”
Around the table
John de Mol must demand that SBS 6 is much less behind than now in the next series. “And yes, of course (100 percent) there will be an additional season, but then SBS 6 will demand that Videoland is allowed to lead by a maximum of one episode. And not three.”
On SBS 6, 776 thousand people watch Gooische Vrouwen linearly. “Just in the top 10.”
