Patrick Kicken, the radio equivalent of Tina Nijkamp, states that John de Mol is already done with his new morning DJ Gordon. “There are whispers that he does not have to complete his one-year contract.”
Radio 10’s listening figures have fallen considerably since Gordon and Froukje de Both were placed there in the morning. They started in September and are committed for at least a year, but can they finish that year? Unfortunately not, according to radio authority Patrick Kicken, who had the scoop on Goor’s radio transfer earlier this year.
‘This isn’t going to happen!’
Patrick adjusts his column Speaking tube that Gordon’s show is not the success that was hoped for. “It is a fact that you are no longer interested in watching anything at Talpa Radio. A rumor reached me from two sides this week that will make your jaw drop.”
What then? “John de Mol would have already drawn his conclusion after six weeks of listening to Gordon & Froukje in the morning on 10: this is not it. The listening figures of the brand new duo in the morning seem to confirm this.”
On the weekend
Gordon will be demoted, Patrick thinks. “The scenario that he does not have to complete his annual contract in the morning, at most sometime during the weekend, is already being carefully taken into account.”
Who would take his place? Rob van Someren, who left a year and a half ago with a lot of lawsuits. He is now at 100% NL, but according to Patrick he does not fit in there. “An open secret is that John de Mol also has a finger in the pie at the Flemish Mediahuis. So a switch was quickly made.”
Not out of the blue
According to Patrick, this is a reliable rumor. “You were the first to read here in my column that Rob van Someren went to 100%NL and Gordon to Radio 10, so keep in mind that this scenario was not invented out of thin air either. And so you see again: money talks.”
Will Gordon receive an honorable farewell? Yes, Patrick thinks. “Something about ‘it cannot be combined with my catering business, blah blah’. It will also concern Heuckeroth for the rest, he will get his money anyway and evil tongues claim that that is what he is mainly concerned about: cash flow.”
