John de Bever soap seems to be becoming unprofitable: ‘Very low’

It seems that John de Bever can say goodbye to his real life soap on RTL 5, because the viewing figures have become so low that broadcasting no longer seems profitable. “This is very little.”

The viewing figures of the real life soap De Bevers have been under pressure for a while, but two weeks ago TV expert Tina Nijkamp sounded the alarm for the first time. At the time, 305,000 people watched John de Bever’s soap opera and that was below average, according to her, although the folk singer was opposed to football at the time.

Very dire

John can no longer use that excuse: yesterday he was not facing football and he only attracted 215 thousand (!) viewers to RTL 5, good for a market share of 4.7 percent in the general target group. And in the commercial target group that is important to RTL 5? 4.4 percent! “That is very little,” says Tina.

She continues: “Oops. For John de Bever and his friend, the situation is very dire on RTL5. For the first time now not programmed against football, but that does not help the viewing figures.”

Rating concerns

It really seems that John will soon go through life again without soap, thinks Tina. “Large viewing figures are therefore a concern for John, because RTL8 scores higher with Lewis (261 thousand) and NPO 3 also significantly higher with Vrouwen die Varen (379 thousand). It is also viewed moderately when postponed.”

Tina thinks there could only be a sequel if it is viewed well on Videoland. “So there is still hope for Videoland: it is number nine in the top 10 there. Hopefully that will be enough for an additional order?”

‘Jamai? Oof!’

It is not the only setback for RTL last night, because Secret Duets also kicked off cautiously. Jamai Loman’s TV show reached a score of 624 thousand viewers (14 percent), not enough for a place in the top 15. “Phew”, says Tina eloquently.

Who scored well? Harm Edens was the winner at half past nine with 1.1 million viewers (24 percent) for Dit Was Het Nieuws and Frank Visser took gold at half past eight. He moved with Mr. Frank Visser Does Statement 907 thousand viewers (20 percent).
