Johan Derksen actually only misses one of the talk show guests who switched from Today Inside to RTL Tonight. “There’s actually only one that gave me a pain in my stomach,” he says.
Today Inside has lost several regular guests to the failed competitor RTL Tonight, including Albert Verlinde, Ben van der Burg and Lale Gül. Which of them misses Johan Derksen the most and which of them is the most replaceable according to the VI mustache? Well, everyone is replaceable, he thinks. There is only one person he really misses.
Pain in abdomen
Who is that? Johan reveals in the podcast Greetings from Grolloo: “The only thing that gave me a pain in my stomach is that Lale Gül left, because I think Lale Gül is a very brave girl. She dares to say anything. A young girl with her own opinion. I would have liked to keep her with us, but all other people were replaceable.”
He continues: “I also find it a bit sad that, for example, Albert Verlinde, who was the ray of sunshine in our house, now gets a silly topic about a new film or musical. Then I think: Albert, Albert, Albert, that you, you are already completely filled, are now going to RTL for money!”
“You’re stuffed!”
Henk Kuipers, co-host in Johan’s podcast, also finds Albert incomprehensible. “I don’t understand that either, because you are stuffed. Look, if you do it to keep your mouth open, then I think: okay.”
Johan concludes: “Lale Gül too. I also said to Lale, who was a bit concerned about it, like: ‘Hey, you don’t have to be ashamed of that. At your age, with a house, if you can earn double that, you should always do it. We also went from RTL to Talpa for money.’ Yes, very flat.”
