Specializing in draws this season, Juventus received guests from the east when Venezia, celebrating its birthday, came to Allianz Stadium.

The visitor had sewn his jersey from the day it was founded 117 years ago.

However, Juventus did not want any gifts for the hero of the day. It took the lead already in the 19th minute of the game, when Federico Gatti continued the clearly practiced corner kick pattern from the back post to the goal.

Venezia skipper Joel Pohjanpalo stirred up his team as the lone spearhead, making the Juventus defense an easy task.

The native of Helsinki got to try a couple of times in the opening period, but the first bet failed Pierre to Kalulu and another Teun Koopmeiners.

The second episode didn’t expire for more than a few minutes when Kenan Yildiz put the ball into the Venezia net for the second time. Fortunately for the visiting team, the shot was however disallowed due to a hand error by the Turkish midfielder.

Confusingly, Juventus has already played ten times in exactly 16 league rounds. That’s why no one surprised the Old Lady even on her home field, when Mikael Egill Ellertsson tied the match 1–1 after just over an hour of play.

The Icelander took advantage Nicoló Savonan loose man guard and butt with force Francesco Zampano into focus.

Venezia jacket Eusebio Di Francesco took his Finnish captain, who had done a full day’s work, off the field in the 74th minute. For the visitors, even a point would have been a valuable addition in the fight for relegation.

However, it wanted more, and in the 83rd minute, Juve top scorer Gatti headed in unluckily Nicolussi Caviglia vapar’s own goal.

The twist of fate is that Caviglia is a Juventus contract player who is only in Venezia on loan.

But Juventus wouldn’t be themselves if they didn’t eventually climb the points table. This time it was needed Antonio Candela hand foul in the additional time given by the referee, the consequences of which Dušan Vlahović got to finish the 2-2 final numbers from the tough one.

Juventus, of course, experienced a draw as a loss. Its difference with league leader Atalanta is already nine points.

Venezia continues as Serie A’s jumbo.
