Former federal and Flemish minister Jo Vandeurzen (CD&V) was repatriated on Friday by a medical ambulance flight to the Oost-Limburg Hospital (ZOL) in Genk. Vandeurzen suffered a serious stroke during a skiing holiday in Austria, caused by a brain haemorrhage. In the meantime, Vandeurzen’s cognitive condition is “good and stable”. “Jo is mentally clear, approachable and fully conscious. Physically he faces an intensive rehabilitation process,” his family said.
