Jimmy Kimmel and Coachella: Stromae has a great weekend on American soil | showbiz

Stromae’s music is clearly not only enjoyed by us. After he released his new single ‘Santé’ in December on the ‘Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon’, he performed on the talk show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ last Friday. No streamed performance this time: Stromae was indeed present in the United States. He released his latest single ‘Fils de Joie’ there and it was clearly appreciated. “This whole album is so good. Stromae is just unbelievably talented,” it read in the comments below the YouTube video. And also: “I got to know him in French class. And then he’s on the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Show’ just like that.” Another was overjoyed that the United States also seemed to fall head over heels for the Belgian artist. “I am so happy that he is finally getting the recognition he deserves in America. Fortunately, Europe is giving him all the love he deserves.”

After his performance in the talk show, Stromae traveled on to the Coachella festival site. That legendary festival was re-organized after a two-year absence due to the corona virus, and our compatriot was able to redeem a spot in the line-up on both weekends. It is Stromae’s second time performing there. In 2015, he was the only Belgian allowed to play at the festival, a performance that was much appreciated. “That guy is the male Beyoncé,” it sounded laudatory at the time. None other than Kanye West crawled onto the stage to perform world hit ‘Alors on Dance’.

The new set that Stromae played at Coachella is praised on social media. “Possibly the best performance I’ve seen here,” it sounded, among other things. And also: “It’s crazy to see Stromae onstage at Coachella. This man has been excelling in the music scene for almost ten years, I’m glad he finally got the recognition he deserved, here on the main stage. And he was fantastic, as always.” During his performance, Stromae performed, among other things, an a cappella version of ‘Mon Amour’.
