When the previous carillonneur stopped at the end of last year, the Nieuw-West district decided to give young talent a chance in this special place. “As a carillonneur you often have the feeling that not everyone is listening, but here the opposite is proven,” says 23-year-old carillonneur Jim.
You will soon also be able to submit request numbers in advance. The carillonneurs then practice these so that they can play the songs on Saturdays. Jim: “I couldn’t just play Bach. But something by The Beatles or Abba, that’s always possible.”
On May 4, Jim will play again at Plein ’40-’45.
