Singer Jill Helena is quite disappointed in the decision of the Public Prosecution Service to ask for the acquittal of Ali B in the case of her sexual assault. She only heard just before the appeal that the justice department might do this. We haven’t heard her talk about this ourselves yet, but yesterday she was in front of the camera Show news.

‘It was hard for me’

What does Jill think? “How am I now? I’m happy that I’m back on stage. Of course it’s not over yet. I actually didn’t do any interviews before then on purpose. The appeal was difficult for me, but it’s almost completely over and I’m happy about that.”

She was not at the appeal. “I really support the fact that I stayed at home, although on the day itself I actually had one foot in the car to drive there. I was bothered by what was said and I thought: I really want to exercise my right to speak now, I wanted to be strong for myself and also for the people who support me.”

Drop

The verdict in the Ali B case is next week. “I’m actually not that concerned with the verdict anymore, because the Public Prosecution Service has also dropped me, so… That’s how it feels. They have asked for an acquittal, while I think: you should leave something like that to the judge.”

She continues: “But now I am giving a whole interview here again, while I actually wanted to save it for the day of the verdict.”

TV interview

Jill still wants to do a TV interview that day. “That is my intention, but I want to do it in a quiet way and not just before a performance.”

According to Shownieuws, it is possible that Jill will participate in that program, together with her lawyer Sébas Diekstra.
