Painter started poorly with a pitch of 18.23. The second throw was slightly better (18.68 meters). Only with her third attempt, she threw above 19 meters: to be precise: 19.24 meters. The fourth throw was even better: 19.51. Then good for fourth place. Her fifth throw was a lot worse again: 18.76. But in her last push she threw everything out, resulting in the greatest success in her career.
Painter has already brought in the necessary successes this year. She became European Indoor Champion with a Dutch record (20.69 meters) in March and then won six major competitions, including the Diamond League final in Zurich.
