The Swiss premier league club Geneve-Servette kept their season alive on Tuesday evening with a forced win.

The team defeated Lausanne HC after overtime with a score of 4–3 and tied the wins in the playoff series to 3–3.

The character of the match was Jesse Puljujärvi, who carried Servette in the deciding moments. The Finnish striker reduced the score to 2-3 at the beginning of the third period and scored the 4-3 winning goal in overtime in 63.51 by guiding Markus Granlund’s serve into the net.

At first, Servette’s evening seemed to go badly wrong. In the second period, Lausanne already ran away with three goals, when the score was 3–0 in 33:55. However, the home team did not give in, but started their rise with superiority with Jimmy Vesey’s narrow goal.

The 27-year-old Puljujärvi’s hit brought Servette to the end of the goal, and finally Vili Saarijärvi tied the match in the middle of the third period in 49:42.

Granlund registered 0+2 performances in the match. Sakari Manninen got an assist in the match by serving Puljujärvi’s first hit.

The decisive seventh leg of the playoff series will be played on Thursday at 21:00 Finnish time.

Puljujärvi was also the hero of Geneve-Servette in the opening match of the quarter-final series. “Pulju” vaccinated Lausanne with a warm time of 58:44. It was the only goal of the match and decided the victory for the home team.
